Those rainy days: they certainly get you every once in a while, don’t they? While most of us would probably like to be out there enjoying some sun and fresh breezes, rain tends to cool things down and scuttle outdoor plans before you can even make them.
But the thing is, you don’t have to have sun and blue skies to enjoy your life. And you definitely should not put your life on hold due to rain.
There are certain areas of the country where residents expect more rain. If you’ve recently settled into one of the Portland houses for sale and are a little sick and tired of all the rain, don’t worry: there are many fun things you can do on a rainy day.
Here are three of those.
Organize Your House
Wait, aren’t we talking about fun things here? So why does that H2 mention organizing your things? Well, it’s because organizing your home can actually be a ton of fun!
When you know where everything is and can either alphabetize or otherwise arrange your things the way you like, you’ll probably find that you enjoy being in your own home that much more!
Sure, organizing might seem like work at first, but if you focus on the end goal, you just might enjoy yourself.
Head to a Museum
No, you won’t melt in the rain, so you can still leave the house if it rains. In this case, we’re going somewhere dry and indoors: a museum. Museums are great because they are designed to take up entire days.
Depending on where you go, you can catch thousands of pieces of art, history, and anything else, eat lunch at the cafe, and then continue your journey through the collections. While away all the rain gazing at some Monets or checking out some natural history exhibits.
Wait out the rain and learn something at the same time with a museum. You’ll be glad you did.
Shop
Lastly, you should shop. Obviously not outdoors if it’s raining, but head to a mall (one of the remaining ones left in the country; RIP) or some other large, covered shopping center where you can spend the entire day browsing to your heart’s content.
What do you need? Clothes? Purses? Video games? Some other stuff you didn’t even know you needed? Shopping is fun because it presents you with all kinds of ideas for your home and your life, and it takes you away from your troubles for a bit.
So forget the rain, and start organizing your home and going to museums and shopping. Who needs the rain? Certainly not you. You have all these new activities to try out now!
